PRESIDENT + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Say hello to Brian Briskman.
Here’s the thing – you might know Brian as a business owner. Or a branded content evangelist. Or that guy who keeps sending you emails. But really, Brian is just a writer who was smart/lucky enough to pull together a great team of people to create a great company.
He’ll be the first to tell you that when he started B2+ he had no idea how to manage teams, or how to lead a business, or how to speak at conferences. But he learned how to do them all because he always had a great team standing behind him. And if he ever tried something too crazy and tripped himself up, that great team would be there to pick him up, dust him off, and send him back to try again.
VP + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Say hello to Laura Lamattina.
It’s a little-known fact that the + in our logo is actually two interlocking L’s.
Laura has the dubious honor of being the very first creative director to join the team. Why dubious? Well, not only did she have to generate and execute killer creative ideas from day one, but the also had to build a whole creative department at the same time. And as any of our clients and co-workers will tell you, she mastered both.
Laura’s easygoing style, infectious confidence, and sometimes shocking sense of humor are the foundations of how our team works. She puts in the hours. She deeply cares about everyone and about every detail. She is a phenomenal friend and mentor to everyone around her. She never takes herself too seriously. Nothing ever phases her. Except maybe when you swipe her favorite bike at spin class. Do yourself a favor and never, ever do that.
VP + ART DIRECTOR
Say hello to Robin Spehar.
The HR people say Robin joined the team in 2010, but those people are wrong. Robin was our go-to freelance designer way back as early as 2007. And then we put a ring on it 3 years later.
Why? Because Robin is truly the yin to our yang.
Robin is so much more than a brilliant designer, director and animation ninja. He is a machinist, a tinkerer, a lover of sharp and explosive things, a sculptor, and a foosball force to be reckoned with. In short: he is a crazy idea guy. And his crazy energy is infectious, exciting, and pushes us to see things differently all the time.
Oh, and did we mention that Robin is also a passionate perfectionist? He throws every part of himself at everything he does. Sometimes literally.
Say hello to Briana Mahoney.
It was clear that Briana was destined to be a creative director from the day she joined the team back in 2007 – but we were just too blind to see it. So we hired her into the production department. Lucky for us, Bri’s writing skills and brilliant ideas disabused us of our first impressions, and soon she became a vital member of our creative team.
What makes Bri so amazing? Well first off, she’ll probably know just how to make that last sentence you wrote even better. And she’ll do it with grace, humor, and disarming style. Then there’s her preternatural ability to illustrate any of her millions of great ideas with something she found buried on Vimeo somewhere. Or the fact that she hosts Friday Dance Parties in her office. Or the fact that she insisted on pie at her wedding instead of cake. You get the idea.
Say hello to Meghan Scott.
Meg is the very first person to join the team here. Back in 2006 she walked in when Brian was literally putting office furniture together. She rolled up her sleeves and did whatever was needed to get the company started, from answering phones to writing scripts to putting together more desks. Since then, Meg has been the cornerstone of our editorial department. Her ideas, team spirit and completely family-friendly vocabulary are truly an inspiration to all of us.
Since joining the team, Meg can take credit for:
42 Client-approved First Cuts
2 Award-Winning Documentaries
1 Awesome Husband
1 Awesome Son
18 Loaves of the best banana bread ever made. Like, ever.
Say hello to Raisa Machado.
Raisa gets stuff done. It really doesn’t matter what the details are. Raisa will keep working at whatever project, problem or opportunity comes up until it is solved, tamed and/or executed perfectly.
“Driven” doesn’t even begin to describe Raisa when she gets in the zone and starts shredding through her checklists. We once heard her describe stairs as “pointless” as she glided into a waiting elevator.
But somehow, when she has 10,000 plates spinning, Raisa always finds time to slow down, laugh at a few bad jokes… and talk some serious smack with Robin when they square off at the foosball table. Fierce.
Say hello to Frank Martinez.
Frank the Tank, Frankie Bones, F Bomb… call him whatever you want. Really, he responds to just about any name. Believe us, we’ve tested this out many times.
One thing’s for sure, though, you can also call the Frankinator any time of the day or night and he’ll deliver an awesome cut of anything you throw at him. Funny AF social videos precisely 12.7 seconds long? Check. Extracting footage from corrupted CF cards? Checkedy check check. Color correcting video from 50 different sources? Checkola.
Yessir, just dial up the Frankophone and he always answers the call.
Say hello to Ivan Gudino.
Ivan may be the newest member of the team, but it already feels like he’s been with us for years. In a good way. Ivan has juggled all the millions of things the team throws at him and he comes back asking for more. And he even volunteered to whip the B2+ social media accounts into shape. Bless him.
Fun Fact: Ivan thought it was a coincidence that after only 2 weeks on the job, Raisa left for 2 weeks of planned vacation in India. Ivan was wrong. This was totally Raisa checking to see if Ivan would crumble under pressure while she sat around the house watching Community again. Well, Ivan came through with flying colors and we’re pretty sure that Raisa actually went to India.
